Overview

The PASMA Towers for Users course will equip you with the specialist knowledge you need to work safely with mobile access towers. It is designed to ensure that when working at height using mobile access towers work is properly planned and organised.
Course Content
At the end of the course, delegates will have an understanding of:
•Work at height responsibilities of employers, employees and suppliers
•Standards affecting the manufacture and use of mobile access towers
•Where to find crucial safety information
•When it’s safe to use a mobile access tower, and when it’s not
•Carrying out pre-use checks and post-assembly inspections on mobile access towers
•Assembling and dismantling a mobile access tower using approved methods
•Good practices for the safe use of mobile access towers
•Accessing a platform safely
•Moving a mobile access tower
•The components used in a mobile access tower
•Identifying hazards in the work environment
•Avoiding personal health hazards
Delegates who achieve this course will receive a PASMA card and certificate, which will be valid for five years.
Training delivered through a combination of classroom-based tutorials and practical instruction.

The theory and practical assessments will be undertaken under test conditions.
To remain certified in this area, you will need to retake the course before the expiry date.

Your training instructor will give you an electronic or printed copy of the course notes and a PASMA Code of Practice that you can refer back to.

Who should attend?

This course is aimed at anyone working with mobile access towers. It is created for operatives who use towers every day and helps them stay competent within the working at height regulations. It is also useful for those who have none or very little mobile tower experience, and for those who haven’t received formal training.

Course Prerequisites

Delegates must have a good understanding of spoken and written English.

The training has practical elements, so delegates must inform their trainer if they have any serious health issues, physical problems, special considerations or are taking any medication, which may create difficulties in any elements of this course. In addition, delegates should also bring suitable PPE on the day of training, for example; safety helmets, safety shoes or boots, hi-vis and gloves.
