Overview

This course focuses on equipping individuals with the necessary skills and knowledge to safely and effectively operate static boom lifts. Delegates will gain a comprehensive understanding of the equipment, including its components and capabilities.
Course Content
At the end of the course, delegates will have an understanding of:
•Introduction to static booms
•MEWP types and purposes
•Safety regulations and legislation
•Pre-operational checks
•Operating procedures
•Risk assessment and hazard identification
•Emergency procedures
Delegates who achieve this course will receive a IPAF certificate, which will be valid for five years.

Delegates will also have access to the IPAF ePAL app where their certificate is stored.
Training delivered through a combination of classroom-based tutorials and practical instruction.

The assessment is a multiple-choice theory assessment and a practical fitting and assembly assessment and will be undertaken under test conditions.
To remain certified in this area, you will need to retake the course before the expiry date.

Please note that if a hardcopy PAL card/certificate is required, it must be arranged prior to the course start date, which will include an additional charge.

Course Prerequisites

Delegates must have a good understanding of spoken and written English.

The training has practical elements, so delegates must inform their trainer if they have any serious health issues, physical problems, special considerations or are taking any medication, which may create difficulties in any elements of this course. In addition, delegates should also bring suitable PPE on the day of training, for example; safety helmets, safety shoes or boots, hi-vis and gloves.
