Overview

This course is designed to provide supervisors and managers with essential knowledge and skills for effectively overseeing Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs) operations. This course emphasizes safety and compliance with UK health and safety regulations, including the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER) and the Work at Height Regulations. This course will equip you with the knowledge you need to manage MEWP use safely and effectively, with the ability to conduct risk assessments and ensure that operators are properly trained.
Course Content
At the end of the course, delegates will have an understanding of:
•Introduction to MEWPs
•Legislation and standards
•Planning and risk Assessment
•Selecting the right MEWP
•Management responsibilities
•Safe working practices
•Emergency procedures
Delegates who achieve this course will receive a IPAF certificate, which will be valid for five years. Those who hold a valid IPAF operator Powered Access Licence (PAL) Card will also have category (MM) added.

Delegates will also have access to the IPAF ePAL app where their certificate is stored.
Training delivered through a combination of classroom-based tutorials and practical instruction.

The assessment is a multiple-choice theory assessment and a practical fitting and assembly assessment and will be undertaken under test conditions.
To remain certified in this area, you will need to retake the course before the expiry date.

Please note that if a hardcopy PAL card/certificate is required, it must be arranged prior to the course start date, which will include an additional charge.

Course Prerequisites

Delegates must have a good understanding of spoken and written English.

The training has practical elements, so delegates must inform their trainer if they have any serious health issues, physical problems, special considerations or are taking any medication, which may create difficulties in any elements of this course. In addition, delegates should also bring suitable PPE on the day of training, for example; safety helmets, safety shoes or boots, hi-vis and gloves.
