Overview

This course is for people with limited or no experience of operating a 360 telescopic handler. It teaches delegates how to demonstrate knowledge, operate and maintain the machine safely onsite.
Course Content
At the end of the course, delegates will have an understanding of:
• Pre-operational checks
• Use of the operator’s handbook and other information sources
• Machine controls and functions
• Safe operation of the machine
• Driving techniques and site awareness
• Operational procedures in various conditions
• Health and safety
• Site conditions and risk management
• Load handling and distribution
• Parking and securing
• Post-operational procedures
Training delivered through a combination of classroom-based tutorials and practical instruction. Delegates will cover manufacturer knowledge and awareness of plant operations, and general knowledge of safety procedures, and best practices.

The CPCS theory and practical tests will be undertaken under test conditions.
Delegates who achieve the CPCS theory and practical tests will receive their red trained operator card, which will be valid for two years.
Upon successful achievement of your CPCS red trained operator category you should begin working towards the relevant NVQ to enable you to upgrade to a CPCS competent operator card before your red card expires. For more information, please contact us.

If you should require it, a translator can be provided for an additional charge. This must be requested in advance and must be a translator approved by the awarding body.

Course Prerequisites

Delegates must have a good understanding of spoken and written English.

Delegates must have passed a CITB Health, Safety and Environment (HS&E) test no more than two years before attending this course. If you require more information on how to book this test, please contact us.
