Overview

This dedicated course is designed to provide employees with the knowledge and practical skills needed to safely use, handle, and maintain abrasive wheels/disc-cutters in the workplace. Whether used in construction, engineering, manufacturing, or maintenance, abrasive wheels present significant risks if not operated correctly.
Course Content
At the end of the course, delegates will have an understanding of:
• Legal responsibilities and compliance with PUWER and current regulations
• Types of abrasive wheels and their applications
• Hazards associated with abrasive wheel use
• Correct selection of wheels and equipment
• Safe storage, handling, and transportation
• Mounting and balancing procedures
• Inspection and maintenance requirements
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safe working practices.
Delegates who achieve the CMT theory and practical tests will receive their CMT trained operative card, which will be valid for three years.
Training delivered through a combination of classroom-based tutorials and practical instruction. Delegates will cover manufacturer knowledge and awareness of vehicle operations, and general knowledge of safety procedures, and best practices.

The CMT theory and practical tests will be undertaken under test conditions.
This course is only run as a dedicated course on our customer sites.

To remain certified in this area, you will need to retake the course before the expiry date.
