Overview

This course will give you the knowledge and skills to prepare for, enter and exit confined spaces using emergency equipment and casualty recovery techniques as part of a team to counter these challenges. The course reflects the national occupational standard for working as a member of a rescue team in confined spaces.
Course Content
At the end of the course, delegates will have an understanding of:
•Legislation and standards
•Hazard identification and risk assessment
•Roles and responsibilities
•Rescue equipment and techniques
•Emergency procedures.
Delegates who achieve their assessment will receive their City & Guilds Level 2 certificate, which will be valid for three years.
Delegates will take part in hands-on practical exercises in rescue procedures and use of equipment, and simulated rescue operations.

The assessment will include a short answer question paper assessment and practical observation.
To remain certified in this area, you will need to retake the course before the expiry date.

This course is the essential course for anyone wanting to be a part of a rescue team in confined spaces.

Course Prerequisites

Delegates must have a good understanding of spoken and written English.

Delegates must already have achieved the City & Guilds High Risk (6160-03) Confined Spaces certificate.

Entering and working in confined spaces may be strenuous and demanding. Delegates should be physically fit and in good health and should generally not have problems with eyesight, hearing heart disease, high blood pressure, asthma, epilepsy, fear of heights/confined spaces, vertigo, difficult with balance, impaired limb function, alcohol or drug dependence or psychiatric illness.
