Overview

The SMSTS Refresher course is for any delegate who has attended the five-day Site Manager Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) course and whose SMSTS certificate is due to expire.
Course Content
At the end of the course, delegates will have an understanding of:
•The current focus of the Health and Safety Executive’s attention
•Risk assessment and method statements
•Construction Site Health, Safety and Welfare
•Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations (RIDDOR)
•Behavioural safety
•Occupational health
•Overview and changes to the current legislation affecting construction.
Delegates who achieve 81% or higher will receive their CITB SMSTS certificate, which will be valid for five years.
This classroom course is a highly interactive course taught through case studies, discussion, group work and individual or group presentations.

Delegates will be continuously assessed during the course in preparation for the final assessment. The assessment is multiple-choice and will be undertaken under test conditions.
Prior to expiry of your certificate, you can refresh your qualification by attending a refresher course.
