Overview

The CISRS Trainee Scaffolder Part One course teaches delegates the core skills of scaffolding. It covers how to safely erect, alter and dismantle basic scaffolding structures.
Course Content
At the end of the course, delegates will have an understanding of:
•Half-day fall prevention and rescue training (SG4)
•Health and safety awareness
•Performance standards (BSEN 12811 and TG20)
•General scaffolding awareness
•Stability
•Ties and anchors
•Manual handling techniques
•Foundations and ground conditions
•Methods of access and egress
•Gin wheels
•Ropes
•Knots and hitches
•Interpretation of design drawings
•Independent tied scaffolds
•Putlog scaffolds
•Static tower scaffolds
•Birdcage scaffolds
•Scaffold alterations – e.g. changing a lift height
•TG20 stair access
•Mobile aluminium tower training for Scaffolders
•Scaffold inspection
Delegates who achieve this course will receive a CISRS certificate and a CISRS and a CISRS Trainee Scaffolder card.
Training delivered through a combination of classroom-based tutorials and practical instruction.

The 50-question theory test will be undertaken under test conditions.
Delegates who have achieved their Trainee Scaffolder Part One course will have 18-months before they need to book onto their CISRS Trainee Scaffolder Part Two (Tube and Fitting) course.

Course Prerequisites

Prior to attending a CISRS Part One Scaffolding course, delegate(s) must have held a CISRS Labourer or Trainee card for a minimum of six months.

Delegates must have a good understanding of spoken and written English.

Delegates must have passed a CITB Health, Safety and Environment (HS&E) test no more than two years before attending this course or hold a CISRS recognised exemption. If you require more information on how to book this test, please contact us.
