Overview

The CISRS Operative Training Scheme course provides delegates with the knowledge required to work safely on scaffolding equipment, it is ideal for anyone new to scaffolding or operatives that carry out labouring duties for scaffolding operations. Delegates will learn about the basics of various health and safety topics such as your responsibilities, risks and hazards.
Course Content
At the end of the course, delegates will have an understanding of:
•General responsibilities
•Basic scaffolding terminology (components and application)
•Servicing of equipment (tube and fittings etc)
•Boards and stock – quality control
•Health
•Welfare
•Hygiene
•Housekeeping
•Electrical safety
•Fire prevention and control
•Noise and vibration
•Work at height
•Accident prevention and reporting
•Slips, trips and falls
•Personal protective equipment
•Site transport safety (including loading and unloading)
•Equipment and tools
•Manual handling (including practical element)
•Lifting equipment using a rope and wheel
Delegates who achieve this course will receive a CISRS certificate and either a CISRS Scaffolding Labourer card, or a CISRS Trainee Scaffolder card (dependant on the delegates role).
Training delivered through a combination of classroom-based tutorials and practical instruction.

The assessment will be undertaken under test conditions.
This course will need to be completed every five years to renew CISRS Scaffolding Labourer cards.

Course Prerequisites

Delegates must have a good understanding of spoken and written English.

Delegates must have passed a CITB Health, Safety and Environment (HS&E) test no more than two years before attending this course or hold a CISRS recognised exemption. If you require more information on how to book this test, please contact us.
