Overview

This course is designed to equip individuals with the knowledge and skills about the use and importance of safety harnesses in preventing falls and ensuring worker safety at height. The primary aim is to provide a comprehensive understanding of fall protection systems, including the correct selection, use, and maintenance of safety harnesses.
Course Content
At the end of the course, delegates will have an understanding of:
•Health and safety and working at height regulations
•Types of harnesses
•Proper use of harnesses
•Hierarchy of fall protection measures
•Pre-use checks
•Usage and anchor points
•Safe working practices
Delegates who achieve their assessment will receive their CMT certification, which will be valid for three years.
Training delivered through a combination of classroom-based tutorials and practical instruction.

The assessment will consist of a theory assessment and a practical demonstration and will be undertaken under test conditions.
Delegates must bring a passport photograph on the day of training so we can issue ID Cards.

To remain certified in this area, you will need to retake the course before the expiry date.

Who should attend?

The Safety Harness Awareness course is intended for anyone whose job involves working at heights or requires the use of a harness. It is also beneficial for managers and supervisors overseeing such work, as it equips them to ensure that their teams are working safely and appropriately.

Course Prerequisites

Delegates must have a good understanding of spoken and written English.

The training has practical elements, so delegates must inform their trainer if they have any serious health issues, physical problems, special considerations or are taking any medication, which may create difficulties in any elements of this course. In addition, delegates should also bring suitable PPE on the day of training, for example; safety helmets, safety shoes or boots, hi-vis and gloves.
