Overview

The PASMA Towers for Users course will equip you with the specialist knowledge you need to keep your towers accident-free zones. It is designed to give delegates a thorough understanding of the relevant operational and safety requirements and inspection of working with Mobile Access Towers.
Course Content
At the end of the course, delegates will have an understanding of:
•Work at height responsibilities of managers
•Standards affecting the manufacture and use of towers
•Where to find crucial safety information
•When it’s safe to use a tower, and when it’s not
•Different tower configurations
•Identifying hazards in the work environment
•Risk assessments
•Rescue plans
•Carrying out pre-use checks and post-assembly inspections on towers
•The components used in a mobile access tower
•Good practices for the safe use of mobile access towers
•Behavioural competencies
•Preventing personal health hazards.
Delegates who achieve this course will receive a PASMA card and certificate, which will be valid for five years.
Training delivered through a combination of classroom-based tutorials and practical instruction.

The theory and practical assessments will be undertaken under test conditions.
To remain certified in this area, you will need to retake the course before the expiry date.

Your training instructor will give you an electronic or printed copy of the course notes and a PASMA Code of Practice that you can refer back to.

This course is aimed at managers and supervisors who need to oversee work and manage others involved in assembling using Mobile Access Towers.

Course Prerequisites

Delegates must have a good understanding of spoken and written English.

The training has practical elements, so delegates must inform their trainer if they have any serious health issues, physical problems, special considerations or are taking any medication, which may create difficulties in any elements of this course. In addition, delegates should also bring suitable PPE on the day of training, for example; safety helmets, safety shoes or boots, hi-vis and gloves.
