NRSWA Hot Lay Tarmac for Operatives
NRSWA Hot Lay Tarmac for Operatives

Overview

The NRSWA Operative course provides delegates with necessary skills, knowledge, and understanding of New Roads and Street Works (hot lay). It is essential for operatives who carry out excavation activities as part of their role in street works.
Course Content
This course will cover the following units:
•LA – Location and avoidance of underground apparatus
•O1 – Signing, lighting and guarding
•O2 – Excavation in the highway
•O3 – Reinstatement and compaction of back fill materials
•O4 – Reinstatement of subbase and road in non-bituminous materials
•O5 – Reinstatement of cold-lay bituminous materials
•O6 – Reinstatement in hot-lay bituminous materials.
•O7 – Reinstatement of concrete slabs
•O8 – Reinstatement of modular surfaces and concrete foot ways.
Delegates who are successful will receive their CABWI NRSWA certificate. Once this certificate has been received, we will apply for their SWQR card which will be valid for five years.
Training delivered through a combination of classroom-based tutorials and practical instruction.

The assessment is multiple-choice and will be undertaken under test conditions.
If your streetworks card is about to or has already expired, you will need to take a NRSWA reassessment course.

SWQR will add any months left remaining on your current card onto your new card, up to a maximum of 12 months, so you do not lose any time.
