NPORS N138 Telescopic Handler Suspended Loads
NPORS N138 Telescopic Handler Suspended Loads

Overview

This course is for people who wish to add the suspended loads endorsement to their existing NPORS N010 red or blue card. It teaches delegates how to demonstrate knowledge, operate and maintain the machine safely onsite focusing specifically on carrying loads suspended from a variety of lifting accessories or suitable attachments on level and even surfaces. It is designed to offer candidates the fundamental knowledge and practical skills to NPORS standards.
Course Content
At the end of the course, delegates will have an understanding of:
•Pre-operational checks
•Use of the operator’s handbook and other information sources
•Machine controls and functions
•Safe operation of the machine
•Driving techniques and site awareness
•Operational procedures in various conditions
•Health and safety
•Site conditions and risk management
•Load handling and distribution
•Parking and securing
•Post-operational procedures
Training delivered through a combination of classroom-based tutorials and practical instruction. Delegates will cover manufacturer knowledge and awareness of lifting operations, and general knowledge of safety procedures, and best practices.

The NPORS theory and practical tests will be undertaken under test conditions.
Delegates who achieve the NPORS theory and practical tests will receive their NPORS Traditional or NPORS CSCS red trained operator card. Please see additional information below for the expiration of these cards.
Delegates who achieve the NPORS theory and practical tests will have the N138 category added to their existing NPORS red or blue card.

There are two types of NPORS red trained operator cards: NPORS CSCS card and NPORS Traditional card.

For individuals operating in sectors beyond construction, where the mandatory requirement for an operator card bearing the CSCS logo does not apply, NPORS offers its traditional operator card. While the standards and methods to achieve this card are identical to those of the NPORS/CSCS operator card route, the traditional NPORS card does not feature the CSCS logo. When obtaining this card, you can choose between 3 or 5-year registrations based on sector-specific or in-company requirements.

Individuals operating within the construction sector should opt for the NPORS CSCS route. If the NPORS CSCS red trained operator card is achieved, you should begin working towards the relevant NVQ to enable you to upgrade to a NPORS blue competent operator card before your red card expires.
